Update #1 - Finding My Sound

My Final Year Project is very simple to describe, I'm taking a sound bite of dialogue and animating a scene around it. I spent a fair amount of time just watching through films, television series and online videos searching for what I wanted. I wrote down where all the interesting sound bites where, and when I was happy with that list I started swifting through it a second time, eliminating the lesser interesting ones. By the time I had narrowed it down to three bites I started acting out the dialogue with myself while the clips played, trying to see which clip could be the fun to work with, and also which clip I had the most interesting ideas for.

At first I settled for a clip from Joss Whedon's The Avengers, it was a dialogue between Thor and Loki on a mountain top venting on each other about their relationship. You can hear that clip here.

I started doing some very basic thumbnails, trying to get the feel of it, but I was never quite happy with anything. I felt that the whole scene was a bit too cliché and I found myself hard of not favouring very cliché acting choices.

Seeing as I was still so early in development, and had the option to switch, I decided to go with my second choice for sound bite. It's more vague on what the characters are actually doing, they could be sitting down, they could be running around or they could be battling monsters in space for all that I could care. The bite is from Kenneth Branagh's THOR and is a scene where Erik Selvig and Thor are talking about what Thor is doing (yes, I am quite fascinated by Marvel's Thor character).

I am now in the process of getting hang of the scene, what happens, more or less learning it by heart. While I am doing this I'm sketching down ideas for poses and filming myself doing things I think I might want to use.
